PhotoHunt: Hanging

{Mactan Shrine [Mactan, Cebu] - Jan 2008}

Living in Cebu my whole life, it's only on my 27th year that I was able to visit one of Cebu's tourist spots, the Lapu-lapu Monument or more popularly known as the Mactan Shrine. I have passed by the place numerous times but it was my first time to actually stroll around and act as a tourist. And of course, like any other tourist, I took lots of pics:) This is one of them, with the Philippine Flag hanging majestically amidst the clear blue sky.

team spirit

{Pandanon Island [Bohol] - July 2008}

My one and only scenic shot during my company's island hopping last weekend before my batteries died on me. Lesson learned: always charge batteries before going out. Oh well, at least I still got a good shot. It's not great but I just have to deal with my "katangahan"(stupidity). I wonder if there are available online courses that can teach me to hone my photography skills. Hmmmm...

Pandanon Island is another beach haven with white powdery sands situated between Bohol and Cebu. It can easily be a destination during an island hopping activity from Mactan, which is what we did. After snorkling in the major fish sanctuaries in the Mactan chanel, we headed off to Pandanon and frolicked in the sun and sand:)

PhotoHunt: What IS that?

{Chateau de Busay - December 2007}

Give me your best guess on what that red thingy on my pic is:) Your guess is as good as mine. Hehehe. I have actually no idea what that is or what plant that is. I just experimented with having it as foreground for the beautiful sunset.

For me, it looks like a miniature strawberry or a Chili (Sili). What do you think that IS?:D

through the glass

{Abaca Restaurant - Jan 2008}

A paparazzi shot of the Chef Jason Hyatt of Abaca Restaurant while he was enjoying his drink at the bar. I lurve the lighting that was captured in this shot. Plus, it looks artsy. Hehehe. My attempt at putting a little drama in the pic. I think it works. Don't you?;)

Photohunt: Support

{San Juanico Bridge - May 2006}

San Juanico Bridge is a bridge connecting the islands of Samar and Leyte. It is part of the Pan-Philippine Highway and is the longest bridge in Southeast Asia, with a length of 2.16 km. The bridge is supported 43 spans rising 41 meters above the sea.

Also known as the Marcos bridge, it is said to have been presented as a gift and "Testimonial of Love" by the former Philippine President Ferdinant Marcos to the first lady, Imelda, a native of Leyte.

I guess there is no greater act of love that building a bridge for your lady love. Bridges really do connect people:)

port of call

{Bulan, Bicol - March 2005}

Three weeks after my father died, I opted to take a vacation. You could say, I didn't handle my grieving the right way. I guess it runs in the family since my sister also did the same thing. Only difference is she went to Africa whereas I was a patron of Wow Philippines and went to Bicol.
This pic was taken on my way to Masbate at the port of Bulan. If there was one thing I missed out on my Bicol trip was to swim with the Butandings. I am hoping one of these days I get to go. Next summer perhaps:)

back in time

{Cabilao Island - May 06}

I wish I can turn back time and be back to who I was when this picture was taken. I feel as if it was a whole lifetime ago. So much has changed and I do not know if the changes were for the best. Hahay... Life.
