San Juanico Bridge is a bridge connecting the islands of Samar and Leyte. It is part of the Pan-Philippine Highway and is the longest bridge in Southeast Asia, with a length of 2.16 km. The bridge is supported 43 spans rising 41 meters above the sea.
Also known as the Marcos bridge, it is said to have been presented as a gift and "Testimonial of Love" by the former Philippine President Ferdinant Marcos to the first lady, Imelda, a native of Leyte.
I guess there is no greater act of love that building a bridge for your lady love. Bridges really do connect people:)

Neat story behind the construction. A beautiful perspective of the bridge, too. Nice job.
I've always wanted to see this ever since I learned of it in grade school, especially after Dante Varona jumped off it hehe... the ultimate Filipino stunt act ever!
Nice photo - I liked your perspective with the larger detail of the bridge in the foreground but the winding length evident in background - and the comment about the bridge connecting people was a nice touch
Thanks for the positive comments guys:)
I've never been to that area but I've heard a lot about this interesting bridge. I like its colorful history.
